April 25, 1986— March 10, 2026
Durham, NC
April Casey Crowe, 39, of Durham, passed away on March 10, 2026 at Duke University Hospital. Born on April 25, 1986 to Philip Edward Casey and Deborah Dickerson Casey, she was preceded in death by her father, Philip Casey.
April was deeply family-oriented and found her greatest joy in watching her children and stepchildren play sports, spending days at the beach, dancing, and offering warm hugs to those she loved. She cherished quiet date nights with her husband, Michael, and lively holidays surrounded by extended family. An avid animal lover, she cared for many pets over the years, including her dog Zoey, a kinkajou named Sophie, and the hummingbirds she faithfully tended. She also loved painting, coloring, and creating crafts alongside her kids, nieces, and nephews. Growing up, April was a spirited, energetic young woman with bright blue eyes and a fiery personality. A talented athlete at Riverside High School, she later cheered proudly for NC State. She shared a playful, lifelong banter with her father, a devoted UNC fan.
April is survived by her husband, Michael Raymond Crowe; her mother, Deborah Casey; her sisters, Stephanie Casey Minor and Melissa Casey Simpson; her sons, Ryder Aucoin and Christian Crowe; her stepchildren, Annabelle Crowe, Michaela Crowe, and Oliver Crowe; her nieces, Reese Minor and Grace Simpson; her nephews, Samuel Simpson, Bryce Minor, and Eli Simpson; and many other beloved members of her extended family. Though she is no longer with them in this life, she walks the streets of heaven with her Savior and her father.
