Antonio Hernandez, 89, of Plainview passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father George Poonely officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview.

Antonio was born on January 5, 1937, in Santa Catarina Puebla, Mexico to Juan and Petra Hernandez. Antonio lived a life rich with purpose, devotion, and love. Antonio was a man of many talents and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an excellent cook, often sharing his love for gorditas, tamales, and menudo with family and friends. Antonio's passion for gardening kept him active and engaged, as he tended to his vegetable garden and made sure his car was always spotless and clean. Antonio was a man of remarkable vitality, not having seen a doctor until he was 70, which speaks to his active lifestyle. Family was central to Antonio's heart. A beloved grandfather, he never missed a birthday and poured his love and attention into each of his grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever. He also loved his furry friend, Billie, who was his companion. Antonio's faith was the cornerstone of his life and was very active in his church. His dedication to community and selflessness inspired those around him, making him a beloved figure in the lives he touched. His kindness and willingness to help others left an mark on many.

Antonio is preceded in death by his wife; Albina Hernandez, his parents; Juan and Petra Hernandez, his two brothers, and his grandson; Michael Hernandez.

Antonio is survived by his son; Willy Hernandez and wife Olivia of Plainview, Texas, son; Demetrio of Anna, Texas, son; Quintin “Ray” Hernandez and wife Deborah of Fort Worth, Texas, son; Antonio Hernandez, Jr. and wife Genie of Grand Prairie, Texas, son; David Hernandez of Fort Worth, son Gilbert Hernandez and wife Dina of Victorville, California, daughter; Hilda Hernandez of Sterling, Colorado, son; Javier “Harvey” Hernandez of Plano, Texas, seventeen grandchildren, and five loving great-grandchildren and one on the way.
