Antonio Estevan Montoya, affectionately known as Tony to his loved ones, left this world far too soon on March 8, 2026. Born on January 28, 2011, in the heart of Santa Fe, NM, Tony's vibrant spirit became a beacon of joy and creativity in the community that raised him. His 15 years of life, though brief, were marked by an unquenchable zest for living and a profound dedication to those he held dear.

Tony attended Santa Fe High School where he was a freshman, known for his infectious laugh, cheesy smile, warm-hearted nature, and perfect head of curls. He will be remembered as a friendly, polite and respectful young man. He spoke about becoming a tattoo artist which spoke of a future filled with creativity and passion. Tony's artistic vision was just beginning to unfold, and one could see the promise of a great person in the making. A young man who touched the lives of so many people.

Family was the cornerstone of Tony's life. His devotion to his loved ones was unmatched, and he cherished every moment spent surrounded by family. Friends, too, were considered an extension of his family, with Tony's loyalty and kindness as testament to the depth of his relationships. His ability to celebrate life's moments, big or small, made him the heart of any gathering.

Tony's interests were as diverse as his personality. He relished the joy of a well-spent day with friends and the intimate moments of a family celebration. His laughter was a common thread that wove through every event, binding everyone together in happiness and camaraderie. In every aspect of his life, Tony demonstrated an earnest dedication to living fully and loving fiercely.

As we mourn the loss of Antonio Estevan Montoya, we are reminded of the words of the great poet Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Tony made each of us feel cherished, valued, and full of life, and it is this legacy of love and joy that will continue to resonate within our hearts.

Antonio is survived by his parents, Estevan Montoya (Chantel Gallegos) of Santa Fe, NM and Johnna Pena of Los Lunas, NM, his sisters, Myah and Carmella, paternal Grandparents Urban and Emily Montoya of Santa Fe, NM, maternal Grandmother, Margie Montano (Wenses Baca) of Los Lunas, NM, Uncles and Aunts, Thomas and Elena Montoya of Santa Fe, NM, Marisa “Tia Risa” Garcia (Josh Barrone) of Los Lunas, NM, Candido Chavez of Los Lunas, NM, Great Grandparents, Ruben and Angela Castillo of Los Lunas, NM, cousin Josiah Lucero of Los Lunas, NM, best buddy, Jeremiah Gonzales of Santa Fe, NM, and numerous other Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends.

Antonio was preceded in death by his paternal Great Great Grandparents Rafael and Rosita Gabaldon of Los Lunas, NM, Great Grandparents Thomas C. Montoya and Viola Montoya Avent of Los Lunas, NM, maternal Great Grandmother Ida Vallegos of Los Lunas, NM, Grandfather Johnny Pena Sr. of Tome, NM and Uncle Johnny Pena Jr. of Los Lunas, NM.

The family of Antonio would like to express our deepest appreciation for the loving support and many prayers that have been expressed.
