Anthony Lathrop ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory - Nevada on Mar. 12, 2026.Anthony Lynn Lathrop (July 9, 1973 - March8, 2026) Anthony is survived by his loving daughter Samantha Lynn Lathrop, parents, Lynn and Cristine Lathrop, sister and brother-in-law, Tresa (Lathrop) and James Burleson, nephew, Christopher Lynn Brown (and his great niece and nephew Guinevere and Kingsley), niece Alisha Marie Burleson Lee and husband Justin Lee, niece Alexandria Rae Brown (and great nephews, Jamesen and Lennex), and a large and loving extended family.Anthony is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Vanita Lathrop, maternal grandparents, Robert (Pat) and Marlene Carpenter, paternal uncles: Ronnie, Dennis, and Larry Lathrop, maternal aunt Joy (Carpenter) Gregory, Lora Carpenter, and cousins Patrick Carpenter, and Clinton Meader.Anthony was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on July 9, 1973. He grew up in several states. He was very proud of his father (and many other relatives) military service, and after he graduated high school enlisted in the US Navy (1992-1994). Upon his honorable discharge he settled in Chaska, Minnesota. There he had several successes, he started a business he was very proud of, Lathrop Electric, he indulged in his passion for motorcycles and raced on the track, and his most loving success, the birth of his daughter Samantha. Later he and Samantha relocated to Nevada, Iowa. Over the past several years he struggled with his health, however, he rejoiced in his daughters' successes in high school, and her acceptance and entry into Iowa State University to study electrical engineering. He is already greatly missed and will forever be held in our hearts.A celebration of life honoring Tony will be held from 5:00–7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home, 1418 Fawcett Pkwy, Nevada. He will be laid to rest privately at Mount Clark Cemetery in Central City, Iowa.Memorials may be made to the family in memory of Tony.Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada has been entrusted with the arrangements.
