A funeral service celebrating the life of Anthony Lee "Tony" Hollar, age 67, of Newark, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Clifford Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.Friends may call from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.Tony was born March 30, 1958 in Newark, Ohio to the late John Henry Hollar and the late Maxine (Clayton) Hollar Lynn. He passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at his home.Tony was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Boeing. Among his hobbies, Tony enjoyed woodworking and was a collector of many things. He loved spending time with his family and adored his cat, Blackie.He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Marie (Woodyard) Hollar, whom he married August 7, 1976; sons, Jeremiah Daniel Hollar of Newark, Thomas John Hollar of Madison Township, and James Richard (Nicole) Hollar of Newark; grandchildren, Rayann, Jason, Nicholas, Jaxson, Paige, Paisley, Gavin, Kayden and Braydon; great-grandchildren, Emmery and Ellis; a brother, John Norman (Phyllis) Hollar of Thornville; sister, Mary Lou Banks of Powellton, West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William, Timothy, and Michael Hollar; and a sister, Ruth Ann Coventry.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Tony and his family.
