Anthony Joseph Tamborello
June 30, 1942— March 8, 2026
Houston, TX
Anthony Joseph Tamborello, 83, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born to Joe and Josephine Tamborello on June 30, 1942, in Houston, Texas, he was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Marion Tamborello, and his niece and nephew, Lisa and Joe Tamborello.
Anthony earned two master’s degrees, one in architecture and one in business. He built a distinguished career creating unique and beautiful buildings, primarily in Houston and Louisiana. Known for his exceptional eye for detail and unwavering commitment to his vision, he was never reluctant to voice his opinions, especially when he encountered what he considered poor taste. A lifelong Catholic, he attended weekly Mass at the Chapel of St. Basil, remained active by working out at the university gym, and cherished his nightly neighborhood walks. An avid traveler, he explored many parts of the world and always spoke with deep affection of Switzerland, his favorite destination, where he formed lasting friendships.
Guided by values of generosity, hard work, and integrity, Anthony extended support and understanding to everyone close to him. He appreciated life’s finer things yet found equal joy in simple pleasures, such as sharing brunch at modest cafés with friends. He never turned down an invitation and was always ready with a compassionate ear and wise counsel.
He is survived by his sister, Virgilee Reynolds-Tamborello, and brother, Frank Tamborello; Virgilee’s children and husband, Christina Speech, Christopher, Gary Michael, Brian, Kevin Waymire, and Russell Reynolds; nephews and nieces Anthony, Phillip, Michael, Anne, Angie, and Andria Tamborello; beloved friends Judy, Stan, Matt, Roman, Ron and Sandy Barclay, Tomas, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Farrell, Eileen, and many others; and numerous cherished grandnieces and grandnephews. Tony touched countless lives through his attention, wisdom, and genuine friendship. He was a dynamic and lovely man whose presence left a lasting impression, and he will be deeply missed.
