December 16, 1970— March 6, 2026
Washington, DC
Anthony Edward Sigmon, a loving father, son, brother, and nephew, was born on December 16, 1970, in Washington, D.C., to the late Anthony Sigmon and Patricia Peters. A proud graduate of D.C. Public Schools, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving with honor and dedication.
Anthony discovered a profound passion for cooking and attended the Culinary Institute of Virginia, where he excelled and was recognized as the top chef in his class. His culinary talent brought people together, with every dish prepared with skill, heart, and genuine joy. He went on to build a distinguished career as an Executive Chef at prominent venues across the DMV area, including the Gaylord National Harbor, Spirit of Washington, TapMGM, Nationals Park, Capital One Arena, Audi Field, and most recently with Metz Culinary at the Brookings Institute.
In his early adulthood, Anthony married Jessie Sigmon and became the devoted father of three children, Anniana, Maya, and Anthony II. Fatherhood remained one of his greatest joys. Later in life, he found lasting love with Royden Rodgers, embracing her son Lance as his own and forming close bonds with Royden’s parents, Brenda and Willie Hoskins Jr. Together they created a home filled with laughter, warmth, and steadfast support.
Anthony will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and the way his humor and generous spirit brightened every room. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his best friend Jessie Sigmon; his children Anniana, Maya, and Anthony II; his goddaughter Jewell Formey; his loving partner Royden Rodgers and Lance; his brother Jermaine (Felechia); his uncles Carleton (Jackie) and Andre; his aunts Yvonne (Rick), Annette, and Gloria; nephews Jeremy, Jerjuan, Jonte, and Jason; niece Jasmine; cousins Erica (Rashad), Xavier, Stephanie, Krystal, Derrick, Davetta, Tiffany, Davida, and Keisha; and a host of other family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever hold him in their hearts.
