February 15, 1973 March 11, 2026

West Columbia, SC

Anthony David “Tony” Lester, 53, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away at his home on March 11, surrounded by loved ones. Born on February 15, 1973, at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Virginia, Tony was the son of the late Jerdon Hatler Lester and Mary Elizabeth Neely.

A proud graduate of Wade Hampton High School, Class of 1991, Tony earned a certification from the Diamond Council of America in 1996. He built a successful career in the jewelry industry, owning and managing several stores where his expertise, quick wit, and genuine ability to connect with people earned him lasting respect and affection. He married Chauntee Metta Lester on November 23, 2024, and the couple cherished their time together with family and friends.

Tony never met a stranger. His warm personality, generous spirit, and quick sense of humor drew people to him. He loved Ohio State football, bowling, golf, playing cards with family, and any pursuit that involved friendly competition. He brought energy, laughter, and joy wherever he went, always ready with a smile and a story, and he would do anything for those he cared about.

He is survived by his wife, Chauntee Metta Lester; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Neely (stepfather Mike); his children, Abbey Gaffney (husband Josh), Jacob Lester (wife Emily), and William McManus; his brothers, Jack Lester (wife Sandy) and Jim Lester (wife Kim); and his grandchildren, Rowen and Ryker Gaffney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Kayla Turner (Greg), Chelsy Russ, Nick Lester, Jennifer Weaver, Cassidy Lester, and Anna Lester, along with many extended family members and dear friends who were like family to him. Tony’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and loyalty will live on in everyone whose life he touched.
