Anthony "Onofrio" Alaimo, age 79, of Titusville, Florida, passed away on March 7, 2026. Born in Sicily, he lived a life that spanned countries and cultures. In his early years he lived in Venezuela before moving to Brooklyn, New York. He eventually settled in Florida while continuing to travel back and forth to Italy throughout his life.
A man of many talents, Anthony served in the US Army, owned restaurants, and worked as a talented chef and entrepreneur. Later in life he became a professor of Romance languages and literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Strong and cultured, he faced life's challenges directly and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Above all, he was a devoted father to six daughters, whom he raised to be strong and capable women.
He is survived by his wife, Natalia; his six daughters; twelve grandchildren; and two sisters in Italy. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and granddaughter Kayla. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family.
