Annie Pease Fitzgerald
October 11, 1941— October 7, 2025
Fort Pierce, FL
Annie Pease Fitzgerald, 83, of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, in Fort Pierce, Florida, just days shy of her 84th birthday.
Born on October 11, 1941, in Connecticut, Annie was the daughter of Cecil Frank and Grace P. Pease. She graduated from Hamden High School in Connecticut and went on to build a life centered around faith, family, and hard work. Annie spent many years working in retail, where her warm smile and friendly nature left lasting impressions on customers and coworkers alike. She later worked for The ARC of Martin County before retiring, a role that reflected her caring spirit and dedication to others.
Annie was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, James Fitzgerald, who preceded her in death. Together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Grace Thompson; and her brothers, Nathaniel Pease, Fred Pease, Frank Pease, and G. Daniel Pease.
A faithful member of St. Marks Church, Annie found comfort and community in her faith. She had a vibrant personality and a wide array of interests. She loved collecting antiques, growing beautiful orchids, and spending hours thrift store shopping in search of hidden treasures. Creative at heart, she took classes in stained-glass artwork and enjoyed expressing herself through her craft. Annie was an avid reader who rarely missed her daily word search and crossword puzzles. Each evening, she could be found watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and on Friday nights she never missed Bill Maher.
Annie’s greatest joy was her family. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Megan (Denzil) Williams of Fort Pierce, FL; her son, Nathan Fitzgerald of Vero Beach, FL; her grandson, Michael (Kerri) Cohen of Port Charlotte, FL; her granddaughter, Jamie (James) Cohen of Fort Pierce, FL; her great-granddaughter, Emma Hurd of Fort Pierce, FL; her brother, Edward Pease of Maine; and many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Haisley Funeral Home.
Annie will be remembered for her quick wit, her love of learning, her creative spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
