Annie Ward ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Peel Funeral Home - Bonifay from Mar. 14 to Mar. 16, 2026.Annie Monette Ward, age 90, of Bonifay, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on March 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.Born on October 3, 1935, Annie Monette Ward lived a life devoted to her family and to the simple joys that brought happiness to those around her. She was known for her warm heart, her caring spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Monette cherished spending time with her loved ones and created many treasured memories through family gatherings and time shared together.She had a passion for cooking and took great pride in preparing meals for family and friends. Monette also enjoyed shopping, arts and crafts, and sewing, hobbies that reflected her creativity and love of making things with her hands.Monette was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gene Ward; her sons Rickey Gene Ward (Martha) and Harold Dewayne Ward; her grandson Dustin Dewayne Ward; her parents, Annie Blackburn Watford and William Mancy Watford; and her sisters Inez Regan Watford, Lila Merle Regan, Myrtle Watford Miller, and Pauline Watford Williams.She is survived by her loving sons and cherished daughters-in-law James Byron and Gail Ward and Roger and Misty Lynn Ward.She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Kevin Trent Ward and Julie Ward Bodie (John) (children of Rickey Gene Ward); Ciera Ward Halstead (Logan), Cheyenne Ward, and Hailey Hinton (children of James Byron Ward); and Rachel Elizabeth Ward Peters, Hunter Chase McLendon-Johnson (Kate), and Roger Dewayne Ward (Anna) (children of Roger Ward).She is also survived by her brothers Ronnie Watford (Judy) and Rodney Watford (Janice) along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.Monette will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.Her family finds comfort in the many memories they shared with her and the love she gave so freely throughout her life.We would also like to thank Peel Funeral Home for taking care of all the arrangements, making this difficult time a little easier. Mr. Roger Devon Whitaker for all the loving support, prayers, and guidance he has given us these past few months. Emerald Coast Hospice Care and specifically; Mendy, Robin, Laurie, Nicole, Marquette, and especially Tammy. Thank you for your kindness, unwavering strength, and continued support thru this chapter in our lives. We are forever grateful.Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at East Mt. Zion Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 PM at East Mt. Zion Methodist Church.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
