Annie Marie Wolf, age 88, of Madison Heights, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born on September 5, 1937, in Deerfield, she was the eldest daughter of the late George Dewey and Fannie Cletus (Helmick) Wolfe. Raised in Mustoe, Annie attended Pinegrove School and Monterey High School. From her teenage years onward, she devoted herself to caregiving, first helping neighbors in the Mustoe community of Highland County and later devoting the greater part of her life to caring for others in the Lynchburg and Madison Heights areas.
A lifelong and devout Christian, Annie worshipped at the former Hamilton Chapel Advent Church and Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church in Mustoe, and she sang in the choir at North Baptist Church in Madison Heights. She found great joy in God’s creations, particularly through gardening and tending to her flowers. Those who knew her will remember her deep love for the Lord, her family, and little children, often expressed through her favorite sayings: “I love everyone except the devil” and “if the Lord’s willing.”
In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her brothers Russell, Elzie Lee, Homer, Ray, Cecil, Ernest, and Roger. She is survived by her sisters, Charlotte Lowry of Hot Springs and Helen Higgins and her husband Claude of Delaware, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and her devoted caregivers, Janet Saunders and her daughter Jessica of Madison Heights.
