Annie Malkey
June 1, 1932— March 4, 2026
Brenham, TX
Annie Malkey, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026.
Annie was born on June 1, 1932, in Brenham, Texas, to Louis Jr. and Matilda (Koechler) Hermann. She was baptized, confirmed, and later married at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church, a place that held deep meaning throughout her life and faith.
On December 23, 1951, Annie married the love of her life, Leroy Malkey. Together they shared 42 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and hard work until Leroy's passing in 1993.
Annie remained devoted to her church and community throughout her life. She had a deep love for gardening and took great pride in growing a variety of vegetables and fruits. She was especially known for making the best peach and apple pies. Another favorite pastime was canning peaches, tomatoes, pears, and pickles-treats that her family always enjoyed. Her family remembers her as an exceptional cook whose kitchen was always filled with warmth and good food.
Annie will also be remembered for her gentle spirit. She was always pleasant, humble, and kind to everyone she met. She was a thoughtful listener who took genuine interest in the lives of others before speaking about her own. Annie faithfully attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she continued to nurture her faith and fellowship with friends and neighbors.
Annie's life was a testament to quiet strength, unwavering faith, and deep devotion to her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Malkey; daughter-in-law, Silvia Wilson; grandchild, Vincent Wilson; and great-grandchildren, Gisele and Sage Wilson. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Berry Lee Malkey and his wife, Paulette Malkey.
Additional surviving family members include nieces and nephews Esther Rosenbaum, Hattie Lampe, Martha Stowe, David Dallmeyer, Ben Hermann, Glady Vordenbaum, and Jarnette Morris.
Funeral arrangements and service details will be announced by the family.
