Annie Mae Peters

Annie Mae Peters, 43, of New Iberia, Louisiana, passed away on February 20, 2026. Born on October 4, 1982, she brought warmth and laughter to everyone around her with her goofy personality and contagious smile. Annie Mae possessed a joyful spirit and a deep love for life. She found genuine happiness in simple pleasures—eating popsicles and peanuts, and sharing long bouts of laughter with family and friends. Her lighthearted nature and loving heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving father, Michael Barnes Sr.; her four cherished children, daughter Terriyanae' Moore and sons Terry Moore Jr., Terryen Moore, and Terryon Moore; her brothers, Michael Barnes Jr., Terry Rae Barnes, Derrick Peters, Rondee Car'Lie Peters, and Reginald Charles Peters; and her youngest sister, Sharonda Jolie Peters. Annie Mae was also deeply devoted to her adored nanny, Josephine Antoine Charles, and her best friend until the end, Kenchasa Williams, along with many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Cherlynn Peters and Sherry Peters; her mother, Daisy Mae Broussard; and her grandparents, Joseph Junius Peters and Daisy Bell Broussard.

Annie Mae’s laughter, her love for life, and the joy she so freely shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
