Annie Lee Harris, born on September 25, 1937, passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Frances Harris; her brother, Samuel Harris; and her sisters, Beulah Mae Wilson, Cherrye Lee Bryant, and Frances Powell. Annie leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Councilwoman Valerie Ford of Midway, Florida, Sheila Carney (Roosevelt) of Quincy, Florida, and Kendall Gardner; two sons, Josephus Gardner Jr. and Patrick B. Gardner; and three sisters, Acquilina Jones, Jessie Lee Harris, and Cynthia Gail Harris, all of Tallahassee.

A devoted grandmother to nine grandchildren—Mario Gardner (Cameka), Kiwanda Freeman, Toni LaCount (Alonzo), Brandy Freeman (George), Calvin Whitmore IV (Rachel), Jamie Carter (Renald), Michael Gardner (Nicole), Roosevelt Carney Jr. (Jahlia), and Johnathan Ford (Leslie)—Annie was also blessed with twenty-five great-grandchildren and eighteen great-great-grandchildren, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

From a young age, Annie knew and loved the Lord. She was an active member of her church, where her beautiful voice blessed the choir for many years. She spent her professional life in healthcare, caring for others with genuine compassion. As the matriarch of her family, she loved her children deeply and encouraged everyone around her to lean on their faith. Her strength came from her unwavering trust in God, and she touched those around her with a joyful sense of humor and a warm, uplifting spirit. She will be remembered as a pillar in her community and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
