Goodson Funeral Homes and Crematory - Talladega on Mar. 11, 2026.Mrs. Annette Kelley Calhoun was born on September 13, 1958, in Buffalo, New York, to the late Willie B. and Rosie Mae Kelley. A woman known for her warm spirit and beautiful smile, Annette lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to those around her.At an early age, Annette accepted Christ and became a member of Kingston Missionary Baptist Church, where her faith helped guide her throughout her life. She received her education in the Talladega County School System and attended Phyllis Wheatley High School and Talladega County Training School.Annette was a hardworking and dedicated woman who spent many years employed with Wehadkee Yarn Mills, Tyson Foods, and Avondale Mills. In every role she held, she carried herself with determination, resilience, and pride.Those who knew Annette will remember her vibrant personality and her ability to bring joy wherever she went. She loved spending time with family, taking relaxing rides, and enjoying moments of fun and fellowship with those she loved. Her greatest joy, however, was always her family. She had a nurturing heart and was known for supporting and helping those around her.On March 10, 2026, Mrs. Annette Kelley Calhoun peacefully transitioned from this life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie B. and Rosie Mae Kelley; her brothers, Calvin Kelley and Kirk Kelley; and her sister, Angela Kelley.She leaves to cherish her loving memory with her husband, Perry Calhoun; her son, Kelvin Kelley, her three daughters, Gwenette (Kelvin) Groce, Selisa (Willie) Garrett, and Santrecia Kelley; one brother, Glenn Kelley; and her sisters, Karen (Tony) Duncan, Gwenn Kelley, and Sabrina Kelley.Her legacy also lives on through her beloved grandchildren: Caneasha Wilkerson, Iesha Moorer, Quintessa Calhoun, Jontavious Herring, Shaquita Swain, Kelvin Groce, Jr., K.C. Calhoun, Ikerrian Kelley, LaKelvius Kelley, and Zae Kelley. She was blessed with eighteen great-grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy as well.Annette will also be lovingly remembered by her aunts, Elois Morris and Maude Swain; her uncle, Willie Garrett; bonus children, TaKeesha Benjamin, Perry Benjamin, Jr., and Bryant Calhoun; seven bonus grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and presence.Mrs. Annette Kelley Calhoun will always be remembered for her loving heart, joyful spirit, and the lasting impact she made on everyone who knew her.
