May 5, 1942— March 13, 2026
Winterville, NC
Anne Marie (Bossack) Redmon of Winterville, North Carolina, passed into eternal life. Born in Bergen County, New Jersey, she and her husband John (Rich) raised their family in West Orange, New Jersey, and later shared many joyful years of family reunions and summer gatherings with their grandchildren at their vacation home on Lake Anna, Virginia. In 2016, they moved to Winterville, North Carolina.
Above all, Anne Marie was a devoted caretaker who gave generously of herself to her family and community. After graduating from Newark State College in 1965, she began her career as a special education teacher in Bergenfield, New Jersey. She later returned to teaching as an elementary school educator in the Livingston, New Jersey public schools. Deeply committed to her faith, she taught religious education classes at Our Lady of the Valley in Orange and St. Raphael’s parish in Livingston, brought communion to the homebound, led prayer groups, volunteered with Birthright, and served alongside John in the parish PreCana ministry.
Anne Marie delighted in hosting family gatherings at their homes in West Orange and Lake Anna, where her children and grandchildren spent many happy summers together. She and John enjoyed traveling with their family, including two memorable cross-country road trips, and later explored Europe, Canada, Puerto Rico, and many places across the United States, with San Diego remaining a favorite destination. In Winterville, she remained active in her community, volunteering with the Paramore Social Committee and Newcomers Committee, enjoying regular Mah Jong games, and proudly attending her grandchildren’s games, meets, and graduations.
She is survived by her children Elizabeth (Deacon Thomas) McDonald of Medford, New Jersey; John Richard (Janet) Redmon Jr. of Suwanee, Georgia; and Christine (Michael) Lysaght of Winterville, North Carolina; her brother Frederick (Barbara) Bossack of Georgetown, South Carolina; sisters-in-law Janet Bossack of Budd Lake, New Jersey, and Cam Northup (Michael) of Laguna Woods, California; and brothers-in-law A. Leigh Redmon of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Carl Monroe (Cynthia) of Lake Suzy, Florida. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren—Brendan and Margaret McDonald, Ian (Katie) Fisher, Abby (Patrice) Dougé, Kelsie (Grant) Dickinson, Hannah and Emily Redmon, Jake (fiancée Anna), Kate, Jon, and Drew Lysaght—and three great-grandchildren, Sage and Daisy Dougé and Hayes Fisher, along with many nieces, nephews, and their children. Anne Marie was predeceased by her husband of nearly 59 years, John Richard Redmon Sr., her parents Edwin R. and Evelyn (Camp) Bossack, her sisters Evelyn Maynard and Mary Bossack, and her brother Paul Bossack.
