October 14, 1932— March 9, 2026
New Haven, CT
Anne Margaret Baldwin, 93, of New Haven, Connecticut, formerly of East Haven, died peacefully on March 9, 2026, at Apple Rehab-Laurel Woods in East Haven, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New York City on October 14, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie (Huber) Baldwin. Anne lived in East Haven for more than thirty years before moving to New Haven. She worked for many years in the food service and retail industries before retiring.
Anne will be remembered for her remarkable strength, determination, and wonderful sense of humor. She faced significant challenges early in life, including a difficult childhood marked by quarantine for tuberculosis, yet she emerged as a true survivor whose resilience defined her. A generous soul with a deep love for animals, she never turned away a stray and kept her bird feeder full, finding great joy in caring for them. That same kindness extended to everyone she knew. She cherished time with her family, especially traveling together, and took immense pride in the lives her children built.
After retirement, Anne embraced life with enthusiasm, spending her days dancing, laughing, and enjoying trips to the casino, always bringing her lively spirit and sense of fun. Her strength, generosity, and devoted love for family will remain with all who knew her, living on through the many lives she touched.
She is survived by her daughters, Lt. Colonel Barbara (Julia) Schwartz, US Army, Ret., of Senoia, Georgia, and Felicia A. Schwartz of East Haven; her sons, Arnold Peter Schwartz of Palm Bay, Florida, and Bernard (Tracy) Schwartz of Williamsport, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Lt. Colonel Daniel (Rebecca) Schwartz, U.S. Army, Jenna Schwartz, Rhianna, Sarah and Alyssa Anderson; three great-grandchildren, Shyanne Anderson, Kristofer Anderson, and Bridget Schwartz; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her three sisters, Marie Woodie Baldwin Stiverson, Ella Baldwin Osman and June Baldwin Walsh.
