Anna Schorno ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by James Funeral Home on Feb. 28, 2026.Anna Schorno, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 27, 2026. She was 78 years old.Anna was born in Switzerland on May 29, 1947. She grew up outside the city of Bern before her family immigrated to Canada aboard the SS Arosa when she was 12 years old. In 1968 in Toronto, Canada, she met and married Robert Schorno, who was also from Switzerland.In 1993, Anna moved with her husband and children to Greer, South Carolina. There she became an active member of Heritage Bible Church and served as a women's leader with Bible Study Fellowship.In 2021, a few years after the passing of her husband, Anna moved to Huntersville, North Carolina, where she faithfully attended Cornerstone Baptist Church.Throughout her life, Anna enjoyed traveling, playing card games, crocheting-having given away more than 4,400 baby hats-spending time with her many pets, and cherishing time with her family. Above all, she loved studying the Bible and growing in her faith.She is survived by her children, Renee Yoshino (Scott) and Andre Schorno; her grandchild, Jude Yoshino (Madelyn) of Durham; her great-grandchild, Esther Yoshino; her stepmother, Elizabeth Hugli; her brother, Anton Hugli (Beverly) and his family; and her step-sister, Bethli Lukewich, along with many nieces, nephews, and their families.The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:00pm, Saturday, March 28, 2026, at James Funeral Home.
