Anna Maria Voorheis, age 91, of Fenton, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Born on February 10, 1935, in Grunau, Austria, she was the daughter of Heinrich and Anna (Hauer) Aitzetmueller. In 1955, she married Ronnie “Bill” Charles Voorheis in Pontiac, beginning a loving partnership that spanned 70 years.
Anna worked for many years as the night secretary at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Waterford, where she was also a faithful parishioner. She was known for her remarkable skill as a knitter and found great joy in walking, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her quiet dedication, warmth, and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; her children, Annemarie (John) Hohman of Ann Arbor, Steven (Catherine) Voorheis of Lake Orion, Mary Elizabeth “Lisa” Voorheis of Brighton, and Daphne Louise (Jon) Dolbee of Atlanta, Michigan; six grandchildren, Marie (Brian) Engel, Rachel (Nick) Gurica, Keith (Emily) Voorheis, Katie (Daryl) Heyboer, Philip (Alicia) Voorheis, and Benjamin (Chelsea) Hirshberg; fifteen great-grandchildren; her siblings, Heinrich (Erika) Aitzetmueller, Rosie Baumgartner, Finni Goldschmeding, and Friedrich (Gisela) Aitzetmueller; and many nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Heinrich and Anna Aitzetmueller, her sister Frieda, and her brother Karli.
