Wyoming, PA
Anna Mae Nocera, 98, of Wyoming, passed away on March 2, 2026, in Allied Hospice, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Exeter, she was the daughter of the late Andres and Catherine Swaydis Gratzula. She attended local schools and was a longtime member of Corpus Christi Parish at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Exeter. Anna worked for many years at Topps Chewing Gum and later at M and W Silk Mills before retiring.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family above all, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A devout Catholic, Anna found joy in attending church. She was known for her love of crocheting, cooking, and baking, often preparing meals generous enough to feed a crowd. Her cat, Bootsy, was also a beloved companion.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Nocera, in 2005, her daughter Katherine Matthews, her grandson Charles Fritz, and her brother Bernie Gratzula. She is survived by her son, Michael J. Nocera of West Pittston; grandchildren Christopher Fritz (Christine), Jennifer Fritz, Curtis Nocera (Nicole), and Justin Nocera (Alison); great-grandchildren Gianna and Dominick Nocera; her sister, Eleanor Roman; and several nieces and nephews. As she wished, she will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming.
