March 1, 1944— March 7, 2026
Shawnee, OK
Anna Marie Mansch, a longtime resident of Shawnee, passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on March 1, 1944, in Pekin, Illinois, to James Michael Fitzanko and Wilma Marie (Smith) Fitzanko, Anna met and married Gary Lee Mansch, an Air Force serviceman, in 1966. The couple lived in Sacramento, California, for seven years before moving to Clovis, New Mexico, where Anna and her family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She remained a lifelong member and found deep fulfillment in serving others. She later made her home in Oklahoma.
Family was the center of Anna’s world. She cherished her role as a mother to her daughter and took special delight in becoming a grandmother and great-grandmother. A gifted homemaker, she lived as a quiet yet powerful example of love and kindness to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Larry Fitzanko and James Fitzanko; sister-in-law Elke Fitzanko; grandson Michael Wood; and both sets of grandparents.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Cherie Dickerson and husband Layne of Choctaw; brother Steve Fitzanko and wife Coleen of Illinois; grandchildren Merriah Wood of Shawnee, Marissa Wood of Midwest City, and Melissa Wood of Midwest City; great-grandchildren Jace Wood Brown of Shawnee and Tristen Wood of Meeker; along with extended family and many dear friends.
