Mt. Vernon, MO
Anna Lee Forrester, 95, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, formerly of Monett, passed away on March 12, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born on August 20, 1930, in Osa, Missouri, to Noel J. and Mildred (Sissel) Miller, Anna graduated from Aurora High School before attending cosmetology school. She went on to own and operate the Carousel Beauty Shop in Monett. Together with her husband, she also managed a cattle farm east of Monett. A longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she found quiet joy in watching Kansas City Chiefs football games, listening to polka music on Saturday nights, and taking shopping trips, especially to Dillard’s.
On June 29, 1952, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Anna married Charles Eugene Forrester. The couple shared sixty-four years of marriage until his passing on December 31, 2016.
She is survived by her sister, Kay Hood and husband David of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, along with many extended family members and friends who held her dear. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, two brothers, Bob Miller and Bill Miller, and two sisters, Betty Allen and Beverly Buehler.
