Anna LeDora Bohn

Anna L. Bohn, 76, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky with her family around her.

Born on March 19, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky, Anna was the cherished daughter of Joseph and Anna Marie Bohn. A lifelong resident of the community she loved, Anna built a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a warmth that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her, and she wore the title of “Nanny” with pride. In fact, she was known as “Nanny” not only to her family, but to nearly everyone who knew her. She had a special way of making people feel welcome, valued, and loved.

A dedicated and dependable worker, Anna was known for always arriving early and giving her very best. Anna spent a short time at Shirley's Way but really found her work there to be uplifting. For many years, she served as a greeter at Walmart. She was also a dedicated member of the Freedom Elementary PTA, where many fondly referred to her as “the popcorn lady”. Her friendly smile and kind words made countless customers feel at home. Anna also spent many years as Bakery Manager at Winn Dixie, and as the bartender at American Legion - Dixie Post 220 for 17 years, where she truly never met a stranger. Anna’s welcoming spirit and gift for conversation made her a beloved presence there for many years.

Known for her gentle nature, Anna was famous for never cussing. Instead, when surprised or frustrated, she would sweetly exclaim, “Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,” a phrase that became one of her endearing trademarks.

Anna treasured the memories of summer trips to Bermuda with her sister Rose Marie in her younger years—adventures filled with laughter, sunshine, and sisterly love. She was also known for making some of the very best potato salad, a dish that family and friends eagerly anticipated at gatherings.

In her spare time, Anna found joy in playing bingo, painting, feeding her squirrels, and cheering on her beloved Kentucky Wildcats. Whether watching her grandchildren’s sporting events or spending quiet time at home, she embraced life’s simple pleasures with gratitude and enthusiasm.

Anna’s kindness, work ethic, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, laughter, and faith that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Anna is preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Herman “Joe” Bohn, Jerry Bohn, and Jack Bohn; and her parents, Joseph W. Bohn and Anna Marie Cook Bohn Needy; and sister-in-law, Nancy Bohn.

Left to cherish her memory, Anna is survived by her 2 children, Tonya Anderson (Chris) and Mike Richardson (Jackie); 7 grandchildren, Nick White, Dianna Kihnley, Michael Richardson, Kaden Keathley, Mason Roof, Brian Anderson, and Brad Anderson; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Marie Owens (John); sister-in-law, Joyce Bohn; many nieces/nephews; and a host of extended family and close friends.

A funeral service for Ms. Anna Bohn will be held at 12 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 2 PM to 8 PM, and 10 AM to 12 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West will follow the funeral service.
