Anna Coggins Easler, 65, of Pauline, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, surrounded by her family after a long and courageous health journey. Born on July 21, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Albert E. Coggins and Edith B. Coggins.
Anna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. She never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her thoughtful and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and dedicated 35 years of her life to teaching at Chesnee Elementary School. Anna loved her students deeply and found great joy in helping young children learn and grow. Generations of families in the community were shaped by her patience, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to education.
Above all else, Anna’s greatest joy was her family. She was known lovingly as “Grandmommy” to her grandchildren, a role she treasured more than any other. Being their grandmother was her greatest delight, and she poured endless love, attention, and pride into each of them.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Danny W. Easler of Pauline; her children, Deanna Wood McCollough and husband Jared McCollough, Sally Jean Whitt and husband Hunter Whitt, and James Cleveland Wood III; and her cherished grandchildren, Jared “Hodge” McCollough, Jacey Wren McCollough, Addilyn Mills Whitt, and Christopher James Whitt. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Compton and husband Gary Compton, and their children, William Compton and Charlotte Hipps.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Benjamin Compton.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC, 29307.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, followed by a private burial.
