October 27, 1933— March 12, 2026
Livermore, KY
Ann Swift, 92, of Livermore, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born Renetta Ann Bowman on October 27, 1933, in Island, Kentucky, she was the youngest of ten children born to the late Richard Theodore and Callie Myrtle Underwood Bowman. Known affectionately as Ann to family and friends, she lived a life marked by quiet strength and deep devotion to those she loved.
Ann was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A dedicated worker, she retired from Speed Queen in Madisonville after earlier employment at General Electric in Owensboro and York Borg Warner in Madisonville. She also worked evenings as a beautician to provide for her family. As a single mother, she raised two sons on her own, an accomplishment of which she was especially proud. Her faith was central to her life; she loved Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior and was a longtime member of Island Baptist Church. Ann found joy in cooking and baking for others, tending her yard, and spending time with family and friends, particularly her grandchildren. She cherished holiday gatherings and was a spirited player of Left Right Center, winning the championship in each of the last two years.
In 2018, Ann sold her home in Livermore and moved to Park Regency Apartments in Owensboro, where she formed many new friendships and was beloved by all. She is survived by her two sons, Kim Swift (Robbin) and Dickie Swift (Susan), both of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Tyler Swift, Jordan Swift, Elizabeth Bumpus (Jacob), and Catherine Forte (Nick); three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
