April 5, 1942— March 4, 2026
Mt. Pleasant, UT
Ann Summerhays Harrison passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026. Born on April 5, 1942, in Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California, she moved with her family to Stockton, California, where she grew up. A devoted disciple of Christ, Ann was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and her faith guided every aspect of her life.
As a young woman, she served a French-speaking mission in Quebec, Canada, and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from Brigham Young University. She married Robert William Bushman on June 4, 1966, in the Oakland California Temple; they later divorced. On July 8, 2004, she married Alan Dean Harrison in the Washington D.C. Temple.
Ann is survived by six of her seven children—Kessa Diann Bushman (Adam Jeppson), Robin Bushman (David Aaron Hastings), Jesse Smith Bushman (Paralee Leonard), Nathan Summerhays Bushman (Heather Lancaster), Jaron Robert Bushman (Charis Deadwyler), and Anna Louisa Bushman (Peter “Tyger” Belton)—and two step-children, Cynthia Lynn Harrison and Lance Alan Harrison (Kelly Ann Kiser). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. She is joyfully reunited with her son Hans Jacob Bushman, who died as a toddler.
Throughout her life, Ann served faithfully in many capacities, beginning at age eleven as a Junior Sunday School Pianist and continuing as Ward Organist, Choir Director, Ward Choir Pianist, Primary Chorister, Ward Roadshow Writer and Director, Primary Teacher, twice as Ward Relief Society President, Relief Society Teacher, and Stake Public Affairs Specialist. A lifelong learner, she loved reading literature, history, biographies, and religious works, and for years her local library kept a dedicated shelf for the many books she reserved. She taught private piano and art lessons, was an accomplished seamstress, and found joy in vegetable and flower gardening, home decorating, and her excellent cooking. Even through a lengthy battle with serious health challenges, she remained devoted to her family and steadfast in her faith in Christ.
