Ann Sarah McGuire Iverson, born on September 23, 1961, in St. Paul, passed away suddenly on March 5, 2026, in North Branch. She was the cherished daughter of Jack and Arline (Schaffhausen) McGuire and grew up in West St. Paul. Ann graduated from Central Oklahoma University and later earned two master’s degrees from Hamline University in St. Paul. She built a distinguished career in higher education, serving as an instructor, Dean of Learning, Department Head, and Associate Provost. Colleagues knew her as the person they could always turn to when a difficult task needed to be completed.
Ann’s true passions were poetry and visual art. A gifted poet and artist, she authored seven books of poetry and three children’s books. Her creative spirit was evident throughout her home, which was filled with her beautiful artwork. Her life revolved around these deeply felt expressions of beauty and imagination.
She is survived by her loving husband, Randy; her stepson, Randy (Brittany) Iverson, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Olivia, Lincoln, and Kenneth. She is also survived by her sisters, Claudia McGuire and Mary McGuire Johnson, along with many nieces and nephews who adored her. Ann was preceded in death by her sisters, Jeanie McGuire and Margie McGuire, and her parents, Jack and Arline.
