Ann Pialet

1925 — 2026

Akron, OH

Ann Pialet, born February 24, 1925 to Walter and Anna in Laredo, West Virginia, spent her childhood surrounded by the mountains and forests that shaped her deep connection to the natural world. This early love of her surroundings grew into a lifelong passion for gardening and nature that remained with her throughout her long life.

In 1938, after her father’s death, the Lebetz family moved to Washington, Pennsylvania. During World War II she met and married Frank Pialet of Ellsworth. Together they raised two children, Patricia and Donald, and made their home first in Charleroi, then Speers, and later Craven Hill in Monongahela. After her children left home, Ann immersed herself in oil painting, expanded her gardening to a larger landscape scale, and became a deeply committed member of the Presbyterian Church in Charleroi. At age 85 she moved to Akron, Ohio to be closer to her daughter, residing at Rockynol from 2015 until her passing at the age of 101.

Her children remain deeply grateful for the compassionate care she received from the nurses and aides on the 7th floor of Akron General Medical Center and the Memory Care unit at Rockynol.

Ann carried a zest and energy for life that never diminished with age. She leaves behind a family who will remember her always.
