Ann LaBarbera

Ann LaBarbera, 80, of Lewiston, Maine, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2026. Born on December 25, 1945, in Rumford, Maine, to James and Elizabeth (Ball) Duran, she grew up in Newry. After graduating from Gould Academy, Ann moved to Portland, where she met her husband of 51 years, the late Salvatore LaBarbera. The couple married in 1967, lived for a time in Mexico, Maine, and later settled in Rumford. In 1986, Ann returned to her childhood home in Newry, where she resided until moving to Lewiston in 2011.

Ann worked alongside her husband in their cleaning business. She took great pleasure in traveling and in tending to her home. A devoted member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she found deep fulfillment in sharing her faith with others.

She is survived by her son Rob LaBarbera and his wife Jeni, her daughter Kara LeFort and her husband Brian, four grandsons, Sean and Jared LeFort and Zach and Antonio LaBarbera, and her two sisters, Gloria Oakes and her husband Clifford, and Sandra Duran.
