Ann B. (Morgan) Thurber
September 27, 1936— March 4, 2026
South Kingstown, RI
Ann B. (Morgan) Thurber, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Elderwood of Scallop Shell in South Kingstown. Born on September 27, 1936, in Springfield, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Catherine (Brennan) Morgan.
A trailblazer for her generation, Ann built a successful career as an executive legal secretary and paralegal in several law offices, including the legal department for the City of Providence. Her professionalism, organization, and dedication earned her great respect. Later in life she opened her own typing service near Providence College, where she assisted both local businesses and college students. She was known for her strong work ethic and independent spirit.
Outside of work, Ann took pleasure in simple joys. An excellent cook and baker, she was also an avid reader who moved quickly from one book to the next. Above all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren, finding her greatest happiness in caring for them and sharing in their lives.
Ann is survived by her daughters, Linda Cameron and her husband David of Charlestown, Rhode Island, and Diann Miele and her husband David of North Kingstown, Rhode Island; her grandchildren, Christopher Farias, Jonathan Farias, Daniel Miele, and Jessica Miele; her great-grandchildren, Harrison Farias and Maxwell Farias; and her siblings, Thomas Morgan of West Warwick and Sandra Dessaint of New Hampshire. In her final year, she received compassionate care from the Memory Care staff at Scallop Shell, whose kindness and support meant a great deal to her and her family.
