Anita Quick Pollock, age 98, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026 at the Benedictine Health Center.
She was born Aug. 4, 1927 to Harry and Isabel Quick in Fargo, ND, where she lived until her graduation from North Dakota State University in 1949. She came to Duluth, MN, as a paint formulation and testing chemist for Western Paint and Varnish, a subsidiary of Marshall Wells Hardware.
In 1951 she married R. Trevor Pollock, a federal tax accountant for The Oliver Iron Mining Division of US Steel. They were transferred to Pittsburgh, PA in 1964, retired to Florida in 1978 and returned to Duluth in 1981.
Anita was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and a long-time volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital where she served as President of the Volunteer Service Guild. She belonged to Chapter BR of P.E.O. and Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity and was a former member of the Duluth Woman’s Club and O.E.S.
Her husband, Trevor, died in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Harriet Heilman; half-brother, Harry Quick; half-sister, Florence Quick; and step-father, Archie Dahlin.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret (Scott) Holden of Rockville, IL, and Barbara (David) Haberkorn of Johnstown, PA. She had two grandchildren; Dr. Jessica (Jason) Whiting of Roanoke, VA and Dr. Stephen (Najeda) Tsikalas of Spokane, WA. Anita is also survived by her seven loving nieces and one nephew, and their spouses and families. She also has many valued longtime Duluth friends and her St. Paul’s Church family. Dear friends Gail Burns, Duluth, MN, and Dr. Janet Hildebrand, West Monroe, LA, have always been a very special part of her life.
There will be no public viewing and funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1710 E Superior Street, Duluth, MN on March 20, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
