Anita Boatman ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Smith-Carson Wall Funeral Home - Girard on Mar. 17, 2026.Anita Marie Boatman, 56, of Girard, died at 12:05 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2026 at the University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Kansas.Anita was born August 11, 1969 in Parsons, a daughter of Ben J. and Marilyn F. (Kavanagh) Bradshaw. She attended Walnut Grade School, Girard High School, and received her bachelor's degree from Pittsburg State University. Anita worked as a controller at Koch Industries in Wichita, Pitsco, Watco, NPC International, and currently for the Ampler Group, all of Pittsburg.Anita married Leonard E. Boatman on June 11, 2021 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Girard and Leonard survives of the home.Anita enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She never saw the bad in anyone, and loved her career and especially her coworkers. Anita inspired us all with her strength, kindness and faith.Survivors, in addition to her husband, Leonard, of the home, are her daughter, Abigaille Jair Dreyer (Gilbert) of Bronaugh, Missouri; her sons, Ethan Robert Doherty of Denver, Colorado, Carter Benjamin Doherty of Kansas City, Kansas, Wade Leonard Boatman, and his fiancé, Brali Conard of Girard, Brody Daniel Boatman of Girard; her mother, Marilyn Bradshaw of Girard; her sister, Lori Trotnic (Bill) of Mulberry; her brothers, Kenneth Bradshaw (Pam) of Girard, Joseph Bradshaw (Janelle) of Girard, Terry Bradshaw of Pittsburg, Darrell Bradshaw of Parsons, James Bradshaw (Kelli) of Walnut, Robert "Bob" Bradshaw (Elaine) of Pittsburg; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.Anita was preceded in death by her father, Ben J. Bradshaw.Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 23, 2026 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Girard with Fr. Daniel Vacca as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery at Greenbush, Kansas.The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 22, 2026 at St. Michael Church where the family will receive friends following the Rosary until 8:00 p.m.Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society and these may be left at the Rosary, Funeral Mass, or the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.Condolences may be sent to www.wallfuneralservices.comTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
