Canuel, 84, of Lewiston, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25th 2026, at home with her family by her side. She was born in Lewiston on October 26, 1941, a daughter of the late Luc and Germain (Caillier) Goyette. Anita married the love of her life Roland Canuel on May 20, 1961.Anita enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, having cookouts and lobster feeds. She also enjoyed many shopping trips followed by lunch at Denny's with her best friend and sister Jeannine Berube. With her love, and amazing sense of humor Anita was a favorite to many.She leaves behind one sister Jeannine Berube, and three brothers Marcel Goyette, Bert Goyette and wife Sally, Raymond Goyette and wife Pauline, a sister-in-law Muriel Minkowsky. Anita also leaves behind a special Nephew Kullen Goyette, and Niece Karlee Jordan, along with many nieces and nephews.Anita was predeceased by her husband Roland of 61 years, 5 sisters, Georgette Plourde, Rita Levesque, Connie Chabot, Theresa Michaud and Lorraine Chicoine; three brothers Conrad, Robert, and Rene Goyette.The love and kindness she gave throughout her life made making her final wish to be at home an easy decision.
