Angela L. Walsh, age 56, of Theresa, New York, passed away on March 14, 2026 at her home, surrounded by the loving care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Born on May 11, 1969 in Gouverneur, New York, to Stanley D. and Brenda J. (Youngs) Besaw, Angela graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1988 and attended BOCES for cosmetology. She married Ron Walsh on August 27, 2006. A previous marriage to Jack Richardson ended in divorce.
Angela worked as a 4-H Educator in Antwerp, a cake decorator for P&C Foods in Gouverneur, a Med Cert for United Helpers, at Tractor Supply in Gouverneur, and most recently as a substitute teacher assistant for the Indian River Central School District. She was an active member of the Oxbow Fire Department, served as a trapper trainer for the DEC, and sat on the Executive Leadership Board for the Boy Scouts of America. In her free time she found joy in knitting, crocheting, painting, making cakes, canning, baking, trapping, hunting, and fishing.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Walsh; son Zachary Richardson; daughter Natasha Richardson; grandson Quinn Richardson; brothers Anthony (Rachel) Besaw, Aaron Besaw and his fiancé Jennifer Fullerton, Jamie (Candy) Waite, and Lucas (Valerie) Besaw; stepmother Stephanie Besaw; stepbrother Leroy “Fred” Tharrett Jr.; stepsisters Sherry Mandigo and Shelly Tharrett; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Angela was predeceased by her father Stanley Besaw, her mother Brenda Tharrett, and her stepfather Leroy T. Tharrett.
