Angela Jones ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory on Mar. 12, 2026.Angela Dawn Jones, age 50, of Cincinnati, IA, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at her home.Angela was born on January 15, 1976, in Albia, IA, to Jerry and Karen (See) Templeton. Her parents divorced and she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Jerry Coatney. She grew up attending school in Seymour and later in Centerville. She continued her education by taking college courses in computer science/programming. On July 4, 1994, she was united in marriage to Chad Jones at his grandmother's home in Centerville. Chad and Angela were blessed with 3 children, Brandon, Brett, and Corey, and shared 31 years of marriage prior to her passing.Angela began her working career as a cook at Golden Age Care Center before moving on to serve as a receptionist at the Putnam County Hospital in Missouri. She later dedicated over 20 years to working as an online banking specialist for Farmer's Bank of Northern Missouri.Angela was exceptionally gifted and had a natural ability to learn anything she set her mind to. She enjoyed crafting of all kinds, including painting, making candles, sewing, and knitting. She was also an avid reader and especially enjoyed true crime and horror books by Anne McCaffrey and Stephen King. She loved being outdoors, gardening, fishing, raising chickens, and beekeeping. Above all else, Angela's family was everything to her and spending time with them was her greatest joy.Angela is survived by her husband, Chad; 2 sons, Brandon and Brett Jones; a daughter, Corey Jones; her father and stepmother, Jerry and Tina Templeton; 2 brothers, Brian (Cynthia) Templeton and Phillip (Rachel) Templeton; and her parents-in-law, Darrell and Kathy Jones. Angela is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.She is preceded in death by her mother, Karen Coatney; her stepfather, Jerry Coatney; and her grandparents.Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Angela's family present to greet family and friends. Per Angela's wishes, her body will be cremated following visitation, and a private family burial will be held at a later date.A memorial has been established to support her daughter Corey's education.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
