Andrew “Andy” Collins Perkins, 68, of Columbus, Mississippi, passed away on March 14, 2026, at his residence. Born on October 31, 1957, in Columbus to the late J.W. Perkins and Lovie Smith Perkins, Andy was a devoted family man and a respected member of the community.

A longtime firefighter, he served the City of Columbus from 1986 until his retirement in 2015 as Captain. He also gave many years to the District 2 Volunteer Fire Department, beginning in 1990 and serving as Chief for much of that time until 2014. Andy loved the outdoors, finding joy in hunting, fishing, reading, and cooking. He was known for his cherished recipes, many of which he kept as closely guarded family secrets.

He was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church. Andy is survived by his wife, Teresa Redwine Perkins; his daughters, Heather (William) Riley, Amy (Caleb) Vaden, and Allison Perkins; his son, Matthew (Jessica) Perkins; his grandchildren, Jack and Lexie Riley, Elijah (Jaeden) Vaden, Noah, Christian, and Isaiah Vaden, and Andrew and Ella Perkins; and his brother, Pat Perkins.
