He was born on August 13th to Li and David.Andrew grew up in Bakersfield, CA and attended Ridgeview High School and continued his education at Cal State Bakersfield. He worked for CALM Zoo as an Animal Keeper 3 for almost 20 years. At the zoo, he demonstrated many talents. In addition to animal care, he taught the Coast Room Volunteer class, trained all staff on venomous reptile handling and husbandry, and was a certified Level 1 Life Support Operator. He was trained in wildlife rehabilitation and performed hundreds of keeper chats and educational programs.He married Sharon in 2012 in Bakersfield, CA on October 7th. Together, they had one son, Marcus Adams.Andrew enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hiking, exploring tidepools, disc golf, and skateboarding. He had a passion for music and played guitar since his teenage years and was an avid record collector. He loved to search thrift stores and antique stores for hidden gems. He enjoyed video games, reading, and hanging out with his family and pets. He was funny and thoughtful, and a walking encyclopedia. He was the go-to person when we had questions or needed help with anything electronic. Words cannot express how much he is loved and how much he will be missed.Services will be held at Basham, 3312 Niles St on Saturday, March 28th at 2pm and a second memorial will be held at CALM Zoo, 10500 Alfred Harrell Hwy on Sunday, March 29th at 10am.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
