He was born on June 2, 1936, in Forest Township, Michigan, to August and Marguerite (Moore) Anderson.Andrew grew up in the Falmouth, Michigan, area and later earned his GED from McBain High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy for eighteen years, serving during both the Korean War and the Vietnam War before retiring from military service and returning to Falmouth.Following his time in the Navy, Andrew began a long career with the Union Pacific Railroad in Mackinaw City, Michigan, where he worked for thirty-seven years.Andrew was a proud veteran and remained active in several organizations. He was a member of the American Legion in Lake City, Michigan, the VFW Post in Cheboygan, Michigan, and was a lifetime member of the Cadillac Moose Lodge #531.Andrew loved spending time outdoors, hunting, and traveling on a whim. He also spent ten years playing in a men's horseshoe league, something he greatly enjoyed.Andrew is survived by his children, David (Lori) Anderson of Cadillac, Michigan, Matthew (Evelyn) Anderson, Julie Anderson of Cadillac, and Amanda Anderson of Mackinaw City; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Stankiewicz.Andrew was preceded in death by his wife, Rose; parents, August and Marguerite; and brother, Robert (Dianna) Anderson..Andrew's final resting place will be at Reeder Cemetery, in Reeder Township, Michigan, with a Military Graveside Service to be held in the spring of 2026.Condolences may be given to the family at www.familylifefh.com.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
