Andrew "Andy" Reynolds

Andrew "Andy" Reynolds

Fisher, IL

Andrew “Andy” Reynolds, 54, of Fisher, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, after suffering multiple heart attacks and fatal heart arrhythmia. With his eldest daughter, Evangeline, holding his hand and reminding him how deeply he was loved, Andy left this world surrounded by the family that meant everything to him.

Born on August 13, 1971, in Champaign County, Andy spent his early years in Homer and Forreston, Illinois, before moving with his family to Peru in fifth grade. There he embraced his role as big brother to his sister Carrie, whom he adored. A standout student and athlete at LaSalle-Peru High School, he was a member of the National Honor Society, excelled in football and track and field, and played percussion with the Cavaliers Marching Band. His lifelong love of music began at his mother’s record player and led him to perform as a drummer in local bands throughout the 1990s, forming many cherished friendships.

Andy became a father in 1994 with the birth of his daughter Evangeline, discovering his greatest joy in raising his children. He earned a degree in Network Administration from Parkland College and worked as a network administrator for Connexus and later Frasca International. In 2010 he reconnected with his high school friend Marcia Schwanke through Facebook. They married and together raised their blended family, which grew to include Jacob, whom Andy officially adopted in 2015, and their daughter Elisa, born in 2011. Andy was a devoted husband and father who found deep fulfillment in caring for his loved ones—fixing things for his parents, comforting his children, building Pinewood Derby cars with his son, and sharing late-night conversations with Marcia. He often credited his own parents, Weldon “Tuffy” and Nancy Reynolds, with teaching him the importance of putting family first, a value he lived out every day.

Andy renewed his faith at East Bend Church, where he and Marcia were baptized together on May 22, 2016. He poured his time and energy into supporting the Fisher Band Boosters alongside Marcia, believing strongly in the value of music education for his children. Known for his dry humor, steadfast reliability, and quiet strength, Andy was the kind of man who showed up for others—offering encouragement, a helping hand, or simply his presence. Though he could appear intimidating at first, those who knew him recognized the gentle, big-hearted “teddy bear” beneath the surface. He remained genuine, humble, and completely himself until the very end, proud of the family he called “Yours, Mine, and Ours.”

He is survived by his wife, Marcia Reynolds (Schwanke); his children, Evangeline Mondello (Jordan) of Mahomet, Jacob Reynolds (21) and Elisa Reynolds (14) of Fisher; his granddaughters Magnolia, Mazie, and Maybelle Mondello; his parents, Weldon “Tuffy” Reynolds and Nancy Reynolds (Beck); his sister, Carrie J. Reynolds of Mahomet; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
