Andrew Gust Kondos, 89, of West Mifflin, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, March 6, 2026. Born in McKeesport on January 4, 1937, he was raised in Jefferson Hills as the son of the late Constantine A. and Fotini “Fotoula” Georgopoulos Kondos.

Andrew proudly served in the United States Army before retiring from U.S. Steel’s electrical department. In addition to his skilled trade work, he served on the grievance committee, assisting fellow employees with workers’ compensation claims, and was an active member of APEX within the company. He was also a longtime member of the Masonic Dallas Lodge No. 231 in Pittsburgh. Deeply committed to his faith, Andrew was a founding member of Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church in Clairton, where he received the St. Photios Award for his outstanding devotion, and he was a member of the Annunciation of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church in White Oak.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Andrew Kalpidou Kondos; sons Constantine A. (Cathy) Kondos of White Plains, New York, and James A. (Nadia) Kondos of Jefferson Hills; granddaughters Dimitria A. Kondos, Elana L. Kondos, and Anna T. Kondos; and brother Theodore (Karen) Kondos of Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his son, John A. Kondos, who passed away on November 16, 2018. Andrew cherished his role participating in the Special Olympics alongside John and dedicated many years as vice president of the Mon Valley Special Olympics, finding deep purpose in supporting athletes and their families.
