Andrew Earl Riggan, Sr.

Andrew Earl Riggan, Sr., 80, of Egypt Mountain Road in Kittrell, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Maria Parham Health. Born on February 8, 1946 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Mary Bowes Riggan and Ollie Thomas Riggan, Sr. Earl was the devoted husband of the late Mary Ann Tant Riggan. A United States Navy veteran who served in Vietnam, he later retired from Murdoch Center, where he worked as a health care technician.

Earl is survived by three sons, Andy Riggan, Jr. (Robin) of Newport, Curtis Tant (Barbara) of Youngsville, and Joe Wilson (Patricia) of Henderson; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Herrera of Angier; a daughter-in-law, Ann Wilson of Townsville; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Shelton Wilson.

He will be remembered as a steadfast family man whose quiet strength and years of service left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him.
