Andrew Dayton Morris

Andrew Dayton Morris, age 93, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on March 7, 2026. He began his career at Babcock & Wilcox at the age of 18 as a welder and retired in 1986 as a supervisor. Known for his determination and refusal to give up easily, Andrew cherished time with his grandchildren and took great pleasure in cooking for his family. His biscuits and gravy were legendary, drawing people together around his table, and anyone who met him or knew him could not help but love him.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Dolores; his parents, Leona and Emmitt; brothers Larry and Kenneth; sisters Bonnie, Darlene, and Kim; daughter Trisha Anderson; and granddaughter Tara Anderson.

Andrew is survived by his children, David (Valerie), Roger (Sue), Brenda (Jeff), Susan (Stephen), and Donald (Linda); his sister, Sherrie Johnson; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Ella Bess, and her children and grandchildren.

Known lovingly to many as “Poppy,” Andrew will never be forgotten. His legacy will live on through the family he loved so dearly.
