Andrew Cubeta
December 14, 1988— March 8, 2026
Middletown, CT
Andrew Cubeta, 37, of Middletown, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Born in Middletown on December 14, 1988, he was the son of Thomas Cubeta and Jacqueline (Mackowitz) Cubeta. Andrew attended local schools and shared a deep bond with his father, whom he considered his best friend, and his mother, whom he loved dearly.
A sensitive, intuitive, spiritual, wise, loving, and loyal soul, Andrew formed many close friendships throughout his life, including with Trevor, Kyle, Allie, and Malcolm. He held a special place in his heart for his grandfather, Angelo Cubeta, and his late grandmother, Phyllis Bruce, and her husband, Neely Bruce. His aunt and uncle, John and Rosanne Bogdan, loved him like a son and supported him throughout his life, bringing him joy with thoughtful celebrations on birthdays, Christmas, and holidays.
Andrew found happiness in swimming, sports, fast rides, spending time with friends, his beloved cats Ariel, Angel, Fearless, and Noodles, movies, restaurants, and music. An aspiring hip hop artist, he faced life with remarkable strength and resilience. In the final two years of his life, he overcame severe bouts of Covid and pneumonia, a heart attack during which his heart stopped for 45 minutes, and multiple periods on life support with slim odds of survival. Each time, he fought his way back. He was overjoyed to move into his own apartment four weeks before his passing, eager to be part of the community.
He will be remembered for his warm smile, infectious laughter, and meaningful spiritual conversations. Andrew touched the lives of those around him in a unique and lasting way. He leaves behind his parents, many dear friends, and all who knew and loved him. Special thanks are extended to the staff at River Valley Services for their support during his teen and adult years.
