Andrew C. Tazioly Jr., affectionately known as Butch, age 90, of Rio Grande, New Jersey, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on March 11, 2026.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Butch proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he trained as a chef and prepared meals for his fellow servicemen. His lifelong passion for cooking brought joy to family and friends, especially during holidays and gatherings. After retiring to the Jersey shore, he continued sharing his culinary talents by submitting recipes to the local community paper, which his neighbors eagerly anticipated. He also enjoyed watching sports and remained a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Flyers and Phillies.
He was the beloved husband of the late Florence Tazioly. Butch is survived by his cherished sons, Andrew “Butchie” (Theresa) Tazioly and George “Bud” (the late Kim) Tazioly; devoted grandchildren Kimberly (George), Stacy, Anthony (Haley), Brittany (Justin), Nicole, Nicholas, Colleen (Jeff), and the late Michael; loving great-grandchildren Liberty, Gavin, Riley, Harley, Christopher, Libby, Anthony Jr., and Mason; and great-great-grandchild Roman. He is also survived by his dear sisters, Frances (Ron) Maerz and Carol (Ben) Hopkins. Butch will be deeply missed by his dedicated caregivers, Crystal, Jean, and Larry Purfield.
