Preserve forever →Andrea J. Durant
Marlborough, MA
Andrea (Dowd) Durant, 52, of Marlborough, passed away on March 15, 2026 after a hard-fought battle with end-stage kidney disease. Born on July 2, 1973 to Nancy Anderson and the late Frederick Dowd, Andrea grew up in Needham. A graduate of Needham High School, class of 1991, she attended Drake University before returning to Massachusetts, where she built a career working with numbers and spreadsheets.
In 2003 she married Jamie Durant, beginning a loving partnership that she often described as a “buy one, get two free” deal. Together they made a home on Cook Lane filled with love, laughter, and a healthy dose of sarcasm. Andrea was a devoted mother to her four children, fiercely proud of each of them. Whether scooping slushies at the softball field, celebrating their academic successes, or arriving in the middle of the night to help when a car broke down, she remained a steady, loving presence in both their major milestones and everyday moments.
Andrea cherished time at the beach, a good romantic comedy or book, the music of Bon Jovi, and challenging puzzles. Stubborn, protective, and passionate, she met every obstacle with determination. She treasured the adventures she shared with her family, often remarking that only something that could happen to the Durants would happen to them.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Jamie; her children Rachael and her husband Stan of Westborough, Jarrett of Waltham, and Julianna and Cameron of Marlborough; her mother Nancy Anderson of Yarmouth; her brother Kerry Dowd and his wife Fabiana of Concord; her sister Christina Dowd of Bradenton, Florida; her sister-in-law Patty King of Brookfield; her brother-in-law John and his wife Susan of Townsend; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, and friends. She also leaves behind her faithful Yorkie companion, Frankie. She was welcomed in heaven by her father Fred, her mother-in-law Anna Durant, her sister-in-law Kathy DiGregorio, her brothers-in-law Jeff King, Billy Durant and Lee Chaplin, and her nephew Anthony DiGregorio.
