Amy Lee Smith

Amy Lee Smith Poston, age 48, of Whitmire, South Carolina, wife of Jamie Poston, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at her home.

Born on September 3, 1977, in Clinton, South Carolina, Amy was the daughter of Larry Smith of Whitmire and Cheryl Willard Wilson (Johnny) of Whitmire. A graduate of Whitmire High School, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from USC Upstate. She worked as a registered nurse at Wallace Thompson Hospital in Union and was formerly employed by Harbor Freight in Newberry. Amy attended Whitmire Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she found community and faith. She was an avid reader and loved to draw, finding joy in quiet, creative pursuits.

Amy is survived by her husband, Jamie Poston; her sons, James Poston, Jacob Poston, and Joseph Poston; her stepdaughter, Beth Miller (Dillon); her step-grandchildren, Isabella, Adelyn, and Reece; her cousins, Kerry Baker Sligh, Connie Baker, Lee Willard (Ashley), and Deanna Willard; her aunts, Susan Willard and Loretta Willard; and many members of the Smith and Stroud families. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jason Todd Smith, and her uncle, Danny Willard.
