Ammon Horst Martin, 93, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at his home near Cearfoss, Maryland. Born on January 17, 1933, in Washington County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Aaron H. Martin and the late Ethel (Horst) Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen H. (Diller) Martin.

A lifelong member of the Reiff Mennonite Church, Ammon was a respected businessman who co-owned Martin Truck Corporation of Hagerstown for 32 years. Known for his quiet strength and steady presence, he found deep fulfillment in his faith, his family, and his work.

He is survived by his seven children: Clifford E. Martin and wife Ellen of Hagerstown, Maryland; D. Leo Martin and wife Joy of London, Kentucky; Rosanne M. Hostetter and husband Henry of Hagerstown, Maryland; Alma L. Horst and husband Eugene of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; Kevin R. Martin and wife Cora of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; Barbara E. Martin and husband Willis of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; and Karla S. Martin of Hagerstown, Maryland. He also leaves behind 29 grandchildren, 95 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, as well as stepbrothers Isaac D. Martin, Nelson L. Martin, and Luke L. Martin, and stepsisters Ruth Martin and Lois E. Martin.

Ammon was preceded in death by his brother Oliver H. Martin and wife Ada, brother Carl H. Martin and wife Vesta, sister Corrine H. Martin and husband Lehman, brother Caleb H. Martin and wife Lois, stepbrothers Lehman Martin, Walter L. Martin, Ivan L. Martin, and Earl D. Martin, stepsister Eunice L. Martin, and grandson-in-law Randall E. Strite.
