Amber Harms

Amber (Howard) Harms, 39, of Elkhorn, Nebraska, died March 4, 2026, in Omaha surrounded by her family.

Born on October 28, 1986, in Tarzana, California, to Albert and Julie Howard, Amber entered the world one minute after her twin brother Nicolas. The family later moved to Omaha, where she graduated with honors from Clarkson Nursing College. Despite health challenges, Amber pursued her dreams with determination. In December 2024 she married Michael Harms, a union that brought her deep joy and happiness.

Amber devoted her career to nursing and caring for others. She found great pleasure in the outdoors, especially kayaking and camping alongside her support beagle, Patches. Michael treasured their time together doing the activities she loved and introducing her to farm life that had shaped his own upbringing.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Harms of Columbus; parents, Albert and Julie Howard of Elkhorn; twin brother, Nicolas (Megan) Howard of Bettendorf, Iowa; nephew, Ames Howard; nieces, Sasha and Mira Howard; aunt, Betsy (Rick) Worley and family; uncle, Robert (Nancy) Kolb and family; in-laws, Gary and Diane Harms of Monroe; and brothers-in-law, John Harms of Columbus and Nick Harms of Monroe.
