Amanda Gail Richmond
April 22, 1981— March 7, 2026
Pittsburgh, PA
Amanda Gail Richmond, 44, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 7, 2026. Born on April 22, 1981, in Pittsburgh to Abilio Vargas and Debbie Smith-Locklear, Amanda grew up in her hometown before earning a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. While in college, she interned with the Lumberton Sheriff’s Department, beginning a lifelong commitment to service and helping others.
On March 28, 2003, Amanda married Shawn Wesley Richmond in Fayetteville, North Carolina. For nearly twenty-three years, she devoted herself to her family with strength, love, and humor, proudly calling herself the “Family CEO” of Richmond Inc. while her husband served in the military. She later supported the Ho-Chunk Nation and worked for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. A trailblazer in her own right, Amanda became one of the first female boxing coaches at Iron Will Boxing, mentoring others through discipline and determination.
Amanda lived with a vibrant spirit and an enormous heart. She loved dancing, traveling, and visiting theme parks, especially with her children and grandchildren. She was known for her generosity, her fierce advocacy for those without a voice, and her willingness to help anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Glenda, her mother Debbie, her sister Sabrina, her brother Bruce, her father Abilio, and her stepfather Stant. Amanda is survived by her beloved husband Shawn Richmond; her children, Tristan and his wife Jasmine, Nevada and her wife Rebecca, and Jaxson; her brothers Stephan and Ryan; her cherished grandchildren Jayceon and Elijah; her grand-puppies Kai and Tank; and her honorary sisters Cynthia, Sally, Julie, and Shay.
